We just adopted our cat from here, and had a great experience! Their new building is beautiful, and a huge improvement from the old one. They seem to do a great job taking care of the animals here! The adoption process was easy but thorough. When we took our cat home, we got a "goody bag" full of food, treats, toys, and a folder full of important information about our new cat. We had such a great experience with the staff here, and we're so happy with our new family member!
The staff and volunteers are wonderful. All of the fur babies are clean and well looked after and they do things in a timely fashion. And they are also very helpful to the public. While I was there a person came in that had taken in a stray cat and I didn't get the entire story but I did see them go above and beyond to help not only the stray but was also there to help the person. I would def recommend checking here to adopt your next fur family member.
Gave 2 stars only for the reason that they have low cost spay and neuter days. The issue is there is not waiting list to be added to one of the dates but when they add the schedule it is already filled with names, and no spots left, especially for female cats, how can it already but filled up, no spots available if there is not really a wait-list. I have been trying since July to have a feral fixed. The dates are added near the end of the month and I check each day waiting to add this female cat, today it became available with no spots left.
Over the past few years, I have taken three female and two male cats to be neutered at this facility and have always been extremely satisfied with their services. The cats were always treated with care and recovered without complications.
The staff has always been courteous and accommodating to fit my schedule and considerable commute. The facility is clean and comfortable. The fee is more than reasonable and includes rabies and distemper shots, as well as nail clipping and flea medication. Upon discharge, they are given pain medication that keeps them comfortable for 24 hours.
I highly recommend the Washington Area Humane Society to anyone who loves and cares about their pets.
Thank you,
Bernie and Spanky
I've been trying for months to get our female cat in that we found. It's a great price but good luck getting an appointment. We live in Washington county, my husband and I are both handicapped, my husband severely. I thought that's who this program was for.
Had our kitten neutered here this week . It was a horrible experience ! Do not take your pet here . Drop off time is 8:30 they called us at 8:20 upset to see where we were . We were walking in . No one would tell me how our sweet baby was doing after him being there for hours . The most rude staff I have ever encountered ! We have rescued many , many cats and had them all spayed / neutered at fix your pet and a few other local veterinarians and they were greeted in a welcoming way with compassion and when we walked away we weren’t afraid of how the animal was as going to be treated. I have supported this place my entire life . Not anymore
I love the ladies of the shelter and the care time patience and attention and compassion that they show each and every animal and the animals parents Ms Val is a godsend along with herself as is Miss Kim's Secreet who handles the animal department for Washington County these are true animal lovers and they saved my Nova came to me abused I was only supposed to watch it for a weekend I'm allergic to her but you've been kept in a cage for a while and she would holes in her paws cuz she had anxiety and I didn't keep her in case I just let her hang out and then I healed her paws and she and I have been together ever since along with allergy medicine LOL Nova ended up pregnant smh and I couldn't think of a better place for the puppies to find secure healthy homes and then miss Val cuz I'm not well and trying to keep up with three puppies and my own dog was a challenge and I called Ms Val and she helped me satisfy that there's also that out the other day and I knew she had a tag on her and what do you know here comes Miss Kim's and what a blessing she was and Nova had a little scarf on her ❤️❤️so they are willing to answer any questions work with you on any areas a very informative I wouldn't hesitate to give time ,money or attention to any cause that they have as a fabulous place‼️‼️🙏❤️
The staff truly care about the cats and dogs they are helping. We adopted 2 kittens from them this year.
